Appointment Policies

If you're new to Gin N Gels - welcome! I look forward to meeting you!

There are just a few pointers to know before your first appointment.

Please arrive to your appointment with bare nails. If it's not possible to remove any existing gel beforehand, I am able to remove these for £8. Please let me know on booking your appointment you will need this service, as I will need allocate the correct time slot.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to remove acrylics or polygel, so please make sure your nails are just gel if you would like a removal.

The nail room is on the first floor of the house, so unfortunately I'm not wheelchair accessible as of yet.

I do also own 2 cats. I keep the door of the treatment room closed throughout the appointment, however they are very friendly (they don't bite and I keep their claws clipped) so will most likely come and say hi when you enter. Please let me know if you are uncomfortable with this and I'll keep them in a separate room for your arrival and exit.

I can't wait to meet you!

As my clients will know, I love having a chat and a gossip at our appointments and I’m always happy to sit and listen to whatever it is you want to get off your chest.

However I also understand that sometimes, you just might not want to do that.

Your time at your appointment is very much YOUR time, and you should be able to look forward to getting pampered, whether that’s chatting away with me or plugging in to your favourite podcast and letting your mind drift away.

Let me know if you don’t feel like talking at your appointment, and I’ll respect your space.

We’ll have a quick chat about what it is you’re wanting at the beginning of the appointment, and I’ll also occasionally check in to make sure you’re happy with your shape and design - but that will be it.

Sit back, relax, and enjoy your you time.

Use cuticle oil daily. This helps give your nails the nutrients they need in order to grow strong and healthy. It also helps your gel mani to stay put for longer and look cuter.

Use protective gloves when coming into contact with chemicals (if you’re doing any cleaning, DIY, gardening etc).

Avoid long periods in water (washing up, long baths, hot tubs etc). If you are taking a long bath - try and keep your hands out of the water.

Certain items can discolour your nails such as fake tan and certain hair products, so please wash your hands thoroughly after use or even better - use protective gloves.

Avoid using your nails as tools! They are tiny jewels and you should see them as such.

I cannot stress this enough - please do not pick your gels off. Not only can this cause damage to your natural nails, but if the damage is bad enough, it can also prevent you from getting further nail enhancements.

It is advised to keep up appointments every 2-3 weeks, as the chances of a breakage is higher.

I understand that sometimes schedules change and things happen, therefore I request at least 24 hours notice when cancelling or rescheduling your appointment.

Appointments cancelled within 24 hours or for which clients are a “No Show” for will incur a charge of 100% of the service amount. You will not be able to book another appointment until this fee has been cleared.

I understand that accidents and emergencies happen that prevent 24 hour notice for cancelling or rescheduling your appointment, I will take this into consideration on an individual basis.

If you are over 15 minutes late for your appointment I may have to cancel your service/simplify the nail art you would like if it cannot be completed in the remaining time frame. If the appointment has to be cancelled, the 100% cancellation fee applies.

If I do not hear from you 15 or more minutes into your scheduled appointment time it is considered a “No-Show”.

If you’ve been following your aftercare advice, you shouldn’t have any issues with your mani.

However, in the unlikely event that chipping/lifting occurs within the first 5 days and is deemed to be no fault of your own, I am happy to repair the affected nail/s free of charge at the earliest available appointment slot. Any damages that occur after the 5 day period (or if aftercare advice hasn’t been followed), will be charged at between £2-3 per nail, dependent on the art required.

As a massive thank you to my clients, I will be starting a loyalty scheme as of April 2021.

Every 6th* appointment booked in with me will be 50% off - has there every been a better excuse to get booked in and treat yourself?

You will automatically get one at your first appointment back - so no need to worry about missing out!

*5 full priced treatments are needed before claiming the 50% discount on the 6th treatment.

Loyalty stamps aren’t transferrable. All appointments must have been on one person and one person only. I reserve the right to amends the terms and conditions of the loyalty scheme at any time.

Unfortunately there is no toilet facility at this time.
